Fans of the show How It's Made: Dream Cars , this Falcon F7 is the one for you. However, it's more than just a television star.

The vehicle was the brainchild of Jeff Lemke, who formed Falcon Motorsports in 2009. The F7 was built in Michigan, between Detroit and Flint, and offered American buyers an alternative to European sports cars.

The style is uniquely American, wrapped around a unibody chassis made of aluminum, carbon fibre, and Kevlar. It's super strong, but also as light as can be. Just seven examples of the model were built (of which one was destroyed), making this a very rare car indeed.

Power comes courtesy of mid-mounted Lingenfelter-built 7.0-litre V8 sourced from the Corvette Z06, making 620 horsepower and 585 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed gated manual, and should be good for 3.5 seconds to 60 mph; and a 200-mph top speed.

When it was new, the F7 would have set you back around $250,000, but this one is currently bid up to just $81,000. At that low price, the F7 is a great alternative to the brand-new C8 Corvette, which has been fraught with recalls and availability issues. Better still, you get a manual transmission!

If you want this very rare car, all you need to do is log on to Cars & Bids and make a bid for yourself. The auction ends Monday, March 15.
